Round 1: Lines in the Sand

Judging Outlines
To be fair to everyone, I asked all the judges involved to state what they will be looking for in a proper entry so here's there judging criteria...


My outlines:

1. Appropriateness of elements- The artist has kept the work to the subject matter.
2. Completeness of design- The work(s) are final and no improvements are needed
3. Uniqueness/originality of design


I'm more interested in seeing how much control the writer has over their character (i.e. going too far into "mary-sue" territory is no bueno).Well, I also want to see how well they handle everyday situations. i.e. like a normal kid would, as opposed to the way over the top, leave-everything-to-me deal. That also gets old quickly.


I've posted my guidelines before so I won't go into too much detail on them. Like I said, make us give a darn for your character while at the same time honoring your opponent's. Not only will I be judging the entries themselves but I will also ask myself if I want to see the character progress in the story. If I'm engrossed by your character's efforts then your victory is in the bag.

When it came to pairing people up, all of you were assigned a number in which I used this site [link] to organize in a random order. Once the pairs were determined I rolled a six-sided die to assign the region, if I rolled a six I would simply re-roll until I got a number between one and five.

Story Elements

For the sake of story plot here are a few facts that might be useful for you all in your future submissions.

1. The battle order listed here is the same order as the fights that will take place.

2. Only one battle will take place in Lyoko at a time.

3. All battles will be recorded by a new invention called "The Overcam" which is a modified Overboard. The video feed will be transfered live and be displayed where the holomap is normally seen.

4. Your character does not have to be present when they are not fighting and is free to wander the factory as they wish. If they're not nearby by the time their fight is up, they will be notified via cell phone call.

5. If your character loses, you are still welcomed to contribute to the overall story. You can post your character's reactions to future battles or even show the audience how they're handling this setback.

6. When your submission is complete please NOTE ME when you're done.
